SVP, Commercial Banking Manager
Three years ago, Aaron Meinhold started a journey that would take him well beyond the day-to-day responsibilities of commercial banking.
This summer, the SVP Commercial Banking Manager at Northstar Bank graduated from the American Bankers Association's Stonier Graduate School of Banking, a milestone achieved by a select group of banking professionals each year. The nationally recognized program combines advanced banking education with leadership development and culminates in graduates earning both a Stonier Diploma and a Wharton Leadership Certificate.

Completing the program is no small feat.
Over three years, participants balance demanding careers with extensive coursework, team projects, banking simulations, leadership development, and a capstone project designed to address real challenges facing their organizations and the banking industry. The experience asks participants to think differently, challenge assumptions, and prepare for responsibilities that extend beyond their current roles.
For Aaron, even as a 16-year Northstar Bank veteran, one of the most valuable aspects of Stonier was the opportunity to learn alongside bankers from across the country, gaining new perspectives on leadership, change, and the future of the industry.
"Stonier challenged me to think more strategically about the future of banking and leadership," said Meinhold. “The opportunity to learn alongside accomplished bankers from across the country, engage with world-class faculty, and explore real-world business challenges broadened my perspective in ways that will benefit both our customers and our team at Northstar. I'm grateful for the support Northstar Bank provided throughout this journey and excited to apply what I've learned as we continue helping businesses and communities thrive."
Northstar Bank CEO Debbie Cunningham said Aaron's accomplishment reflects the same qualities his
colleagues and customers see every day.
"Aaron's graduation from Stonier is an outstanding accomplishment and a reflection of the dedication, discipline, and leadership he brings to Northstar every day," said Cunningham. “The Stonier program is recognized as one of the most demanding and respected educational experiences in the banking industry, and completing it requires a tremendous investment of time, effort, and intellectual rigor. We are incredibly proud of Aaron's achievement and excited to see the continued impact of his expanded knowledge, strategic perspective, and leadership capabilities on our organization, our customers, and the communities we serve."
Professional development often happens quietly, one class, one project, one late evening of study at a time. At Northstar, learning is never just about individual achievement. When our leaders bring back new ideas, stronger skills, and broader perspectives, the benefits extend to our customers, our coworkers, and the communities that count on us.
We're proud of Aaron for reaching this milestone and grateful for the leadership he continues to bring to Northstar Bank every day.
